The Press Behind the Rift

Rivening Press became official in 2026, built on one idea: speculative fiction should be a place to ask "what if" and actually mean it. We publish stories where reality doesn't have to hold together, and the people living through that are still just people. We also want this to be a real way in for new authors and artists — not just readers, and not another slush pile that goes nowhere.

Our flagship series, Tales From the Rivening (part of The Rivening Cycle), follows the Great Rivening: the day the barriers between realities cracked, and an ordinary world had to reckon with what came through. The Severed Threads happens somewhere else in that same multiverse — a different reality, built around another version of the same woman, decades into a life Tales From the Rivening never touches. The Veilport Shifters steps outside that multiverse entirely: a standalone paranormal romance series with its own world and its own rules.

Dispatches from the Far Side keeps that multiverse open to new writers and artists — the easiest way in, with real publication and a real audience behind it. But we're not only reading for stories set there. If you write speculative fiction that stands entirely on its own, we want to see it too.
